Everything you want
Everything you want
to know about KODA.
Toppers, mixers, transitions, delivery, ingredients — here's the straight answer to the things Las Vegas dog owners ask us most.
A topper is a smaller portion of fresh KODA you add on top of your dog's current food — usually replacing about 25% of the bowl. It's the easiest, lowest-commitment way to introduce real food without changing everything at once.
A mixer replaces about 50% of your dog's daily meals with fresh KODA. It's a stronger fresh-food transition than a topper, but you're still keeping half of their current food — a great middle step before going fully fresh.
Only if you want it to. Many owners start with a topper or mixer and keep feeding their current food alongside KODA, then move toward a full fresh plan over time. You set the pace — KODA is built to fit into the bowl your dog already eats from.
Go slow. A common rhythm is to start with a small amount of KODA mixed into your dog's current food for the first few days, increase it over the next week, then settle at the level you want — topper, mixer, or full fresh. Slow transitions are easier on most dogs' stomachs.
Skip the chicken recipe. The Harvest Bowl (turkey & pumpkin) is built for dogs avoiding chicken, and we also offer the Iron Skillet (beef) and Santa Barbara Coastal (wild-caught salmon). Tell us about your dog's sensitivities and we'll point you to the best fit.
No. KODA is fresh cooked in small local batches and delivered fresh across Las Vegas and Henderson — not trucked in frozen from across the country. We'll always tell you how to store it to keep it at its best.
Right here in Las Vegas, in small batches. Being local is the whole point — shorter trip to the bowl, fresher food, and real feedback from the owners who feed it.
Because KODA is fresh cooked with no preservatives, it's meant to be kept refrigerated and used within a few days, or stored in the freezer for longer. Every delivery comes with simple storage guidance so nothing goes to waste.
Keep your KODA frozen until you're ready to use it — that's what locks in freshness with no preservatives. The night before you need a pack, move it from the freezer to the fridge and let it thaw overnight. By morning it's ready to serve. Only thaw what you'll use within about 3–4 days, and keep the rest frozen until its turn. Never re-freeze a pack once it's fully thawed.
We deliver fresh KODA across Las Vegas and Henderson. Once you tell us about your dog and choose a plan, we'll set up a delivery rhythm that keeps fresh food in the bowl without you having to think about it.
Yes — that's exactly what our starter topper boxes are for. They replace about 25% of the bowl so you can try KODA with low commitment before deciding whether to step up to a mixer or full plan. Starter boxes begin at $40.
It can be. Toppers and mixers are designed to be fed alongside your dog's current food, while full fresh plans are portioned to your dog's size for the whole bowl. If your dog is new to KODA, we usually recommend starting with a topper or mixer and transitioning gradually. Talk to your veterinarian about your dog's individual dietary needs.
It depends on your dog. The OG KODA Bowl (chicken) is our everyday starting point for dogs without chicken sensitivities. Harvest Bowl (turkey) suits dogs avoiding chicken, Iron Skillet (beef) is a heartier option, and Santa Barbara Coastal (salmon) is our premium fish-based pick. Not sure? Fill out the contact form and we'll recommend one.
